Self-Regulation Strategies

This presentation introduces three Tier II behavior interventions that can be used to support students struggling to regulate impulsive, overactive, or restless behaviors: goal setting, self-monitoring, and self-graphing. Implementation tools and templates and information on ways to measure behaviors suited for these interventions are shared. It is highly recommended to watch the entire presentation before using the resource pack.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the importance of Tier I instruction and support, and how they relate to Tier II interventions.
  2. Recognize the key features of self-regulation strategies and the conditions that make them effective as Tier II interventions.
  3. Select and design self-regulation tools that address the behavior-specific needs of students.
